The premises of Café Fara (vicarage) in Klentnice spread out in 2011 when a wooden guest house was finished. It is located in the place of original sheds, and namely this purpose of the building served as inspiration for the author of the new building. It is a small, abstractly stylized shed. Shape of the building is typical for this area, even archetypal – an oblong building with a ridge roof, size of which respects the scale used in the historical architecture. The vertical larch lathes of the facade create romantic background for shadows cast by the walnut tree in the yard and for the visitors’ fantasy. The building has a unique supporting structure from massive cross-bonded wooden panels. The interior is made of wood. Namely two kinds of wood are used there – spruce and oak.

Old school – guest house

Before reconstruction the old school was in a state of neglect. The building was repaired and extended. Various facilities of the premises, including the kitchen, were located here. Here, you can find the library, and the School, Nut, Paradise, Teachers’ Room and Madonna of Klentnice suites. Clay coatings on the walls and wood were used in the suites. The white Paradise suite is the most popular among our visitors or the Madonna of Klentnice suite with a romantic bedroom with a four-poster bed.

Marek Jan Štěpán is the author of the building. He is dealing with sacral architecture and, besides others; he is the author of the premises of Mass of St. Benedict XVI in Brno, and the bronze cross that is presently located under Petrov hill in Brno.
